Steve Roy
Fitness Coach and Certified Personal Trainer
Trainer
Steve is a single father to two amazing daughters, has been involved in the fitness industry for more than 25 years, and has just recently joined the Fit Father Project team.
Growing up as the prototypical “98-pound weakling”, my goal from an early age was to get bigger and stronger.
Graduating high school at 5’6 and 118 pounds, I made it my mission to pack on as much muscle and weight as I could and learn how to do it as effectively as possible.
This process ignited my passion for health and fitness and I got my first personal training certification in 1997 and started working for a local gym. I spent the next 10 years traveling the country, working in gyms, health clubs, resorts, and hotels trying to be the best trainer and coach I could be and learning from some great mentors.
After getting married and taking a desk job, things changed and my health slowly started to suffer. A subsequent divorce led to a complete collapse in my physical health and I found myself at rock bottom.
Fortunately, I found the inspiration to reinvent myself and went on a mission to help as many other dads as I could to get fit and healthy. Through this mission, I not only got myself back into the best shape of my life, both mentally and physically, but it helped me build a much stronger relationship with my daughters.
At 52 years old I feel better than I did 20 years ago and it all comes down to making your health a priority. This is a principle I live by and teach every single day.
